The Floating Market in Pattaya began operating at the beginning of the dry season (November) in 2008. It is still Thailand’s largest floating marketplace in Thailand. Its area is 100,000 square meters, but if you don’t stop at the stalls, it can be walked around from edge to edge in as little as half an hour. The stalls are on stilts and can be navigated by boat or on bridges. Administratively it is divided into four parts, each representing one of the regions of the country – Northern Thailand, Northeastern, Southern and Central.

When the highway starts narrowing to two lanes, keep your eyes peeled. It’s not more than a hundred meters from here to the market. A sign that you’re on the right track is the large number of buses parked on the left. Well, you can only miss the big Floating Market banner if you’re in a state of nirvana.
There are municipal sunteos on the highway, and they cost no more than 20 baht. You can also take a cab, just remember that the local bombers are unfamiliar with the word Floating, so the purpose of the trip should be called Water Market.
