Many travelers wonder whether it’s better to take a laptop or a tablet when you travel. Each device has its pros and cons.
First and foremost, start by considering what activities you want to do with your device. A Laptop while traveling is more suitable for work, and a tablet for entertainment. Next, you need to know what are the outlets in Thailand, not to get into a difficult situation with a dead device. Now, let’s elaborate on that:
- Work. If you are going to wintering in Thailand and you plan to work photographer, do photography and video processing, or work remotely (for example, want to earning on Advego), then surely stop your eyes on the laptop. Its high performance, the size of the display and usability will easily cope with these tasks, which can not be said about the tablet. But it’s not without its downsides, as the notebook loses out on battery life, size and weight.
- Entertainment. As for the Tablet while traveling, it is undoubtedly good (especially Windows 8) in various kinds, entertainment: easy processing, captured while traveling, photos and videos followed by uploading to the Internet ( kinds of Internet in Thailand), as well as games, music and movies. It is a real pleasure to carry it with you. But, if you have at hand a good smartphone with a large screen, it may well replace the tablet.

Time is changing, and technology is evolving rapidly. It may very well be that before too long, the tablet will be as productive as your laptop, and we can take it wherever we go, whether it’s for entertainment or business.

And I will say that on short trips it is quite a weighty anchor, which only made me uncomfortable on the road, plus two more suitcases on my “shoulders”.
Then I bought a 7-inch Android tablet which I couldn’t be happier while traveling! Even my smartphone didn’t bring me this much joy. I guess it was the diagonal size of the device.
