The waterfalls on Koh Samui are one good reason why you should get off the couch, get out of your slippers and take a trip to exotic Thailand. There are as many as eleven of them on the tiny island. One of them can be reached without bother and special physical costs. Others can only be reached by trained travelers. Not only the mountains can get in the way, but also the weather conditions. If you prefer to go to them dry, from January to April, when there is almost no rain, you probably will not find them at all – from turbulent streams they turn into pastoral brooks, whose murmuring can hardly be heard.

Na Muang 1
.
Na Muang 1 waterfall on Koh Samui is called “Purple” among tourists, but the Thai people themselves refer to it differently, the Royal. Members of the royal clan often come to admire this natural phenomenon. They call it Purple because of the color of the surrounding mountains, it’s not too high – 18 meters, but it’s very beautiful. The water flows down into a round picturesque bowl formed in the rock base. It is possible to swim in it.
You can drive up to the waterfall almost right up to it, only a not too wide protection zone is left so as not to trample the fragile beauty. Next to the parking lot is a traditional Thai market (market in Samui), which offers souvenirs and simple snacks for a quick snack. If you’re not afraid of hiking, this waterfall can be reached by a shuttle bus that runs between Lamai Beach and Naton town. It stops a mile and a half away. In the dry season in Thailand Purple Falls is uninteresting, it dries up almost completely.

Na Muang 2
.
Na Muang 2 waterfall on Koh Samui is one of the most beautiful, a highlight for those visiting Namuang Park. Not only is it 80 meters high, but it is also very picturesque. A stream of water flows down, traversing several steps. You can get to its top on foot along an equipped trail. It will take you about half an hour. Just estimate your strength before you start climbing. The hot sun may seriously tire you out and spoil your mood. It’s much more convenient to use a jeep, and if you are an extreme and exotic lover, you can try riding an elephant in Namuang Safari Park and riding on its back to Na Muang 2 waterfall through dense jungle.
Besides the waterfall, there is so much more to see in the park. Numerous signposts and information boards will help make the tour fascinating. Parking near it is free. Read more about excursions in Samui.
You can visit the largest waterfall Na Muang 2 as part of a sightseeing tour jeep safari. The tour program is very large and covers all the major attractions of Samui in one day.

Hinlad (Hin Lat)
.
Hin Lat waterfall on Koh Samui is more of a rushing mountain stream. Don’t be disappointed – it is very picturesque. The stream of water flows around the huge boulders, then falls silent in small ponds, where there are fish. It ends with a large pond, over which the bridge leads to a Buddhist temple. The landscape around it is very similar to Japanese prints.
This waterfall is close to Nighton Beach (Lipa Noi district). To get there, take highway 4169, then turn off at 4172 and follow it to the end. The main thing is not to miss the turn signal.

Tarmin
Tarmin Waterfall on Samui is variously called. Most of them are very soporific and high-minded: “Garden of Heaven,” “Buddha’s Magical Garden”, “Tarminim Magical Waterfall.”
But this is more a reflection of the Aboriginal mentality, which tends to find the beautiful and sublime in every flower, tree or unusually curved branch. You can see a small stream in the park, which is very scenic indeed and adds a kind of philosophical meaning to the Garden of Stones, a traditional type of landscape design in Indochina.

Siva Tara and the Stone of Love
Siva Tara Waterfall and Valentine Stone (Love Stone) on Samui are the main attraction of Lamai Beach. They are surrounded by a small shady park where you can just walk around. A stream of water flows down a small rock and ends with a pond. There are two fenced viewing platforms near it. The Love Rock is more of a tourist lure than a truly noteworthy natural feature. There is a special kind of entertainment in the park – SPA massage, which is done by the fish. Admission is chargeable and there is a restaurant.
6
Khao Yai
.
Khao Yai Waterfall on Samui is considered by some tourists to be the most impressive. Probably because of the statue of a beautiful girl at its top. It is quite high and consists of several cascades. On the way to the top there are viewing platforms and pavilions for recreation. During the rainy season is supplemented by several more scenic streams. It offers direct access to Tarnim Falls and Paradise Park.
