What city to choose for moving to Thailand

Almost every tourist dreams of moving to Thailand permanently. But what if you have never been in this country: have not tasted Thai life, have not tried tastes of Thai cuisine, have not experienced the local climate… And to move to Thailand wants immediately, in this case, I decided to write a mini review of popular islands and towns of the Kingdom!

If you have already decided on taking out a visa to Thailand, read on, if not, I recommend you to study this question first, then it will be easier for you to decide on the city.

Dear readers, in this article about the choice of city when you move to Thailand, I expressed a purely personal opinion. I may have a different opinion about it as the saying goes: “all color combinations are different”

This article will give you a clearer picture of where to move to Thailand in your new life.

Locating to Phuket

To move to Phuket (open map), you should consider that here is the most expensive real estate in Thailand and prices for food, cabs, etc. But here you will find some of the most beautiful beaches (the best beaches in Phuket). To have lunch at a cafe here will cost comparable to the price of St. Petersburg’s cafes. At the same time, the price for the same menu in Bangkok will be several times lower. For example, you can eat sushi there from 5 baht. It costs an average of 8,000 baht per month to rent an apartment here.

Pattaya relocation

Pattaya (open the map) attracts most tourists because of the available, but not entirely clean beaches (read more about Pattaya beaches), relatively inexpensive prices compared with Phuket and the largest cluster of Russian in Thailand. We would like to separately mention the Russian village in Pattaya, where most of our compatriots live after moving to Thailand.

But not everyone likes Pattaya, who knows, what if you don’t like it either? Before jumping to conclusions, it is better to experience it for yourself.

I would call Pattaya the capital of sex tourism in Thailand, because there are so many katoys and Thai prostitutes, which even Bangkok would envy.

Hire an apartment here for an average of 5,000 baht. Read more about how to rent a place in Thailand.

Locating to Chiang Mai

It’s a good idea to live in the city of Chiang Mai (open map) in northern Thailand. It’s a very beautiful city. Truth is a bit far from the beaches, but the accommodation is half the price. And you can easily get to the beach by scooter or any other transport.

Locating to Hua Hin

You may also consider staying in Hua Hin (open the map), the prices are not biting, the beach is very close, but according to reviews, the heat in this resort town is hard to bear. Also, according to some reviews, some tourists find life in the city of Hua Hin begins to seem boring and unbearable, they can not stand it and move to other places. There are acquaintances who moved from Hua Hin to Samui Island, and they liked it better there than the first option.

Locating to Samui

The island of Samui (open map) in Thailand, also not a bad idea to stay, however, here, as in Pattaya, there are many Russians. Because of this, it feels like you’ve returned to your homeland. But this is a very beautiful place, impenetrable jungle and palm groves. However, because of the rocky terrain, the best beaches on Samui not so much. A house here will cost about 20000 baht per month. Koh Samui is truly a paradise!

Moving-in-Bangkok

Living permanently in Bangkok (open map) I wouldn’t call it a good idea. If you go there, it’s only to make money, not for recreation. Yes, the city is beautiful, but there is such a sultry heat and high humidity and lack of winds, that not every visitor can handle it. On top of that, it also has the biggest traffic jams in Thailand, as well as metropolitan bustle and noise, far from the beaches. I would not advise you to move there. The cost of renting an apartment is comparable to the cost in Pattaya, that is an average of 5000 baht. But it is much more pleasant to live in Pattaya.
